Last Wednesday afternoon, we caught up with Mrs Adams and her Grade 1 class from Larne Elementary School in South Carolina. 🇺🇸 🏫 We have been sending videos to each other over the last few weeks introducing ourselves and telling the class about our likes and dislikes. We have enjoyed hearing all about them. They have 16 children in their class and their classroom is quite big. They have over 600 children in their whole school!
We asked each other questions about our schools today. It was very interesting. They start their school day at 7.30am and finish at 2.15pm each day. They don’t wear a uniform and they pledge allegiance to the American flag 🇺🇸 and the South Carolina flag. They sang the verse for us and showed us how they stand and look at the flag each morning.
Their teacher Mrs Adams will be in Northern Ireland this week and we hope she will be able to visit us. We are looking forward to that. We told them how some people celebrate St Patrick’s Day here as they were interested in finding out. ☘️
