A Mindfulness Morning in the Library
Yesterday, P3 visited the Larne Library to have a Mindful Workshop with Leanne. It was a very interesting morning and Leanne told us a lot of information about the brain and how to manage our feelings.
We met Slothy the Sloth, who taught us how to relax and slow down in the busy world we live in. We were shown how to breathe while listening to a soothing Tibetan Singing Bowl!
We discussed our five senses and focused on all of them and how we felt after we had been breathing. Leanne told us our nervous system is a little like a very fast motorway and how it can have traffic jams and accidents. It’s even like a gamer using the WiFi and how sometimes if it goes offline we can have ‘gamer rage’.
She showed us some activities we can do in class to keep us focused and calm. We talked about gratitude and how to be kind to others and how good it can make you feel.
We also learned a little rhyme…
I am loved,🥰
I am funny, 🤣
I am amazing, 🤩
I am me, 👦 🧒
I am enough 🙌
We really enjoyed our morning finding out more! 😊
