A Letter from Principals
Dear Parent and Carers
It is very fair to say that there is mass confusion and grave anxiety in our country at this moment in time. Our politicians have, in my opinion, created more confusion by not being clear about expectations. At every turn, school Principals have been officially informed after the media has informed the general public, always meaning that we have to 'catch up' to ensure that everyone remains calm and understands the current situation.
I have always stated that the health and well-being of the staff and children in Larne and Inver PS is my number one priority. The staff are exhausted having spent many hours preparing very detailed and differentiated work packs and online activities for all children at very short notice. The Minister of Education has created further confusion by stating that the children of key workers should attend school.
Please find attached a letter from many local Principals. Having consulted with the Chair of Governors, we agree with this letter and would ask you to inform me by 11am tomorrow so we can make plans to protect our staff and children alike. These are unprecedented times and we are completely ready to continue our teaching and learning via our website and ClassDojo platform. Thank you to the many parents who have signed up for the ClassDojo and we hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. We are in this together and I very much appreciate the team effort shown by everyone so far.
Regards
Kirk Patterson
Principal
